Story
Like a lot of people, I spent years running on stress. I tried the usual fixes (exercise, meditation, late-night scrolling but nothing quite hit right. Then I discovered ASMR.
Those soft sounds (tapping, whispering, rain, a thunderstorm) did something nothing else could. My brain quieted. My body exhaled. I started sleeping again.
It brought me back to being a kid, when my mom would scratch my back until I drifted off, or run her fingers through my hair when I wasn’t feeling well. Pure, simple comfort. Science later confirmed what I already knew: back and scalp scratching triggers endorphin release, producing genuine feelings of calm and happiness.
I thought, “Why doesn’t this exist as a service?” So I built it.
Chillax KC is Kansas City’s first and only dedicated back, scalp, and skin scratching experience; paired with immersive ASMR audio in a cozy, judgment-free space. Whether you’re managing anxiety, chasing better sleep, or just deeply overdue for some real self-care, we’re here for that.

Is Chillax KC a massage studio?
Nope! We’re something entirely different. Chillax KC specializes in back, scalp, and skin scratching using hands, nails, and a curated set of tools designed to create soothing, tingling sensations. Think: the world’s best back scratch, elevated.

What is ASMR?
ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response; basically, certain sounds that trigger a relaxing, tingly feeling in your brain and body. Everyone responds differently, so we let you choose your audio experience before your session. Not sure what you like? We’ll help you find it.

What if ASMR doesn't work for me?
Totally valid; some people experience the opposite response (called misophonia). No problem at all. We can play anything you find relaxing: rain sounds, white noise, spa music, or complete silence. Your session, your rules.

How does a session work?
Simple: book online, choose your audio vibe (or bring your own playlist), slip on our premium earphones, and let us do the rest. Sessions run 30 or 60 minutes. First-timers, we recommend the hour; you’ll thank yourself later.
